Highlights: Sarah Contreras-Ortiz is a first-year student at the University of Michigan Medical School. In medical school, Sarah is dedicated to innovation by working on the Leadership Task Force in conjunction with the Leadership Curriculum to provide opportunities for medical students to build and develop their leadership skills.
Education: Sarah attended the University of California Riverside where she earned a B.S in Biomedical Engineering in 2015. She is currently a second-year medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School.
Worked with the University of California Riverside and Riverside County Regional Medical Center Family Care Clinics to build and sustain the Diabetic Health Coaching program to improve diabetic patient health outcomes in the underserved Moreno Valley, CA community.
Worked as a consultant for COPE Health Solutions managing the Health Scholar Program at St. John’s Hospitals in Oxnard and Camarillo, CA.
