Highlights: Matt Pun is an second-year medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School with a background in public policy. Prior to starting medical school, he worked as a research assistant studying cancer genetics.
Education: Matt graduated from Duke University in 2015 with bachelor’s degrees in Public Policy and Biology and a certificate in Genomics and Science Policy. He began his M.D.-Ph.D. training in the summer of 2017.
Select Experiences:
  • Conducting informational interviews to identify key strengths and weakness of healthcare networks for cost effectiveness and quality of care in order to inform the North Carolina State Budget Office about competing Medicaid reform plans

  • Evaluating performance of different healthcare network models for Medicaid on a state-by-state basis

  • Identifying and analyzing efforts to develop radiation oncology workforces in low- and middle-income countries to develop consensus on best practices and identify areas for additional research opportunities
